Remaining Relevant In Today’s Times
Mark 2:22

It has often been said Tradition is nothing more than frozen success. Being relevant is tough for some people, because it causes them to stretch beyond tradition. When you are seeking to remain relevant, you have to adapt to changes all around You. I am realizing it takes courage, because introducing new ideas into older systems often creates tension. Sometimes you may have to restructure all together, but at a minimum redaction is required. Jesus understood this tension when he said …if you are going to execute vision, be sure that what your are offering is not based on assumptions from history.

Making assumptions on the past – We Learn from the Past, We Live in the Present, & We Long for the Future, just as an in the Music Ministry –a person listening today to 8 tracks as a music opportunity versus a CD or Cassettes usage. The same holds for true for VHS or DVD with media coverage.

Proverbs 29:18 – Where there is no vision, the people perish; but he that keeps the law, happy is he.

5 Things We Should Reflect:
1) BE A STUDENT OF CULTURE
2) BE OPEN TO POSITIVE CHANGE
3) BE RESILENT
4) BE FLEXIBLE. BE AWARE. BE YOUR OWN TOUGHEST CRITIC.
5) BE AGILE

I am convinced that true visionaries will allow their institutions to die. If you are faithful believer, you have a commitment to do what is necessary for the preservation of your organization. Relevancy is not a respecter of persons. It places a demand among the struggling organization as well as the one that is
thriving. Every day you wake up, ask yourself and ask God how you can get better! Push yourself past yesterday’s successes and embrace new challenges. Executing vision means you are completely engaged in the process and not a bystander. As a visionary, listen attentively, study hard, and act courageously so that everything you hope to accomplish comes to pass.
